The Business Development officer will lead efforts to increase our software user base among emergency and disaster response agencies and organizations, potentially through deployment to active disaster zones.


Trek Medics supports emergency and disaster response agencies through our Beacon dispatching platform. Beacon works by relaying requests for emergency assistance to the nearest emergency response units and/or personnel through text messages to coordinate local operations and reduce response times.


  • Increase the Beacon user base among active agencies and organizations
  • Advance the impact and sustainability of Trek Medics’ mission through key partnerships
  • Develop a pipeline for continuing impact and growth


  • Proactive with lots of initiative
  • Wide experience in emergency and disaster response
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of software marketing and sales


Working with support from senior staff and the software team, the business development manager will:

  • Create and pursue new opportunities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver presentations
  • Communicate new product developments to prospective clients
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of marketing literature
  • Maintain great documentation and reporting
  • Develop a long-term business development pipeline
  • Provide management with feedback and guidance to fulfill business development objectives
